Analytics and advertising cookies are off until you allow them. You can change your choice at any time: .
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by websites you visit. Similar technologies include local storage and tracking pixels. We refer to all of them as “cookies” in this policy.
2. Categories we use
- Essential — needed for the site to work and to remember your cookie choice. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics (optional) — help us understand how visitors use the site, for example which sections are read. Only active with your consent.
- Advertising (optional) — help us measure our paid ad campaigns, for example whether an ad visit led to a click on a provider’s website. Only active with your consent.
3. Cookies and storage we may set
The exact cookies depend on which tools are active. Optional cookies are set only after consent.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
hv_consent (local storage) | HostVerdict | Stores your cookie preferences | Essential | Until changed or cleared |
_ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Distinguishes visitors and sessions for statistics | Analytics | Up to 2 years |
_gcl_au | Google Ads | Measures ad clicks and conversions | Advertising | 90 days |
IDE, test_cookie | Google (doubleclick.net) | Ad measurement and frequency | Advertising | Up to 13 months |
When you click an outbound link, the destination website (e.g. Nexcess or Kinsta) or its affiliate network may set its own cookies on its domain. Those are controlled by that website’s cookie policy.
4. Google Consent Mode
We use Google Consent Mode v2. By default, all Google storage is set to “denied”, and no Google tag is loaded until you opt in. If you accept, the tag reads your choice and only uses the storage you allowed.
5. How to manage cookies
- Use “Cookie settings” in the footer of any page to change your choice;
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings (this may affect how sites work);
- Manage Google ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com;
- Opt out of Google Analytics with the browser add-on.
6. Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we will not enable advertising cookies through “Accept all”. You can still turn them on individually in Cookie settings if you wish.
7. Changes
We will update this policy when our use of cookies changes, and ask for your consent again where required.
